Mobiasbanca - OTP Group S.A. celebrates thirty years of activity, being now one of the four largest banks in Moldova, with 160,000 clients, 800 employees and 53 branches across the country.

History of Mobiasbanca
 
The bank's success story began in 1990, at the initiative of 20 companies in the sector of furniture production and wood processing, to provide them with banking services. The entrepreneurial spirit of the founders determined the structure of the organization, being created an independent bank, oriented towards serving the SME sector.  At the very beginning, the name of Moldmebelbanc was changed in 1992, in Mobiasbanca LLC, and in 1997 it was reorganized into a public limited company.  
 
The modern development of the bank was prompted by the acquisition of majority shareholding by the French group - Société Générale, in 2007. For 12 years, Mobiasbanca has achieved a multidimensional evolution at the level of human capital, innovative products and service quality standards.  
 
In the period 2007 - 2015, Mobiasbanca has expanded its network from 14 units located in 8 localities to 53 branches in 19 towns across the country.  
 
Mobiasbanca is recognized for pioneering and the development of banking products, thus, launching for the first time on the market consumer loans and credit cards, the project Simple Finance oriented towards lending to households having agricultural activities in the regions. Mobiasbanca was the first bank which implemented the concept of “universal counter”, launched a customer support service 24/24 and opened the first Mortgage Centre in Moldova. 
 
In its 30 years of presence on the Moldovan banking market, Mobiasbanca has become a leader in lending to individuals, a supporter of entrepreneurs and the financial advisor of the largest multinational companies, being at the same time, a reliable partner of the Internal Financial Institutions.  
 
The new majority shareholder, OTP Bank Plc., Hungary, strengthens the international course. The membership of the European group since 2019 facilitates replication of experience and expertise on the local market, development of new products, concentration of efforts and investment in the digitization of services.  
 
The responsibility to community, with the active involvement of the team in volunteer activities is a characteristic credo for Mobiasbanca  
 
Over many years, the bank is a trusted partner of the National Museum of Art and the National Philharmonic  “Serghei Lunchevici”; a faithful supporter of Hospices of Hope Moldova, association that supports the development of  palliative care services in the regions and of the Association “Special Olympics”, which aims to include children with intellectual disabilities through sports activities. Mobiasbanca supported the national rugby team and contributed to the development of this type sport in Moldova;  sponsored the improvement of treatment facilities and medical conditions for children, and more recently, it is the founder of the Foundation for Financial Education “OK”.
